"A self-produced collection of exemplary precision, intelligence and diversity"
"Great album, great packaging ! Love it."
"Imagine if someone threw The Faust Tapes into Wolf Harbor"
"Hemmings doesn’t really have much to say beneath the crazy surface effects and eccentric production"
Yes, it's me Evil Dick with a new album to promote. It's taken a year and it's now finished, printed and ready for YOU to get your hot, sticky fingers all over it.
Q: But what can listeners expect?
A: Fifty-two minutes of original music. Complexity and unpredictability. Bold, abstract sonic art. Free improvisation. Serious composition. Stupid liner notes. Great artwork. The saxophones of Dave Jackson. The drums of Richard Hemmings (whoever he is). Humour. TRAGEDY...
Each CD is housed in a beautiful, deluxe Digipak case, numbered in silver ink by my own fair hand.

Hemmings (the absurd name used by Evil Dick to trick you into thinking he's just a regular guy) plays the drums on three contrasting improvised tracks with Jackson. His style is similar to a drum kit falling down the stairs, but with more dynamic range... and fewer broken drums. His guitar playing is limited, but sufficient enough to make all the dirgy noise required for his compositions.
All That Glisters features Leicester-based free improvisor Dave Jackson on Saxophones, with Richard Hemmings on drums and guitar.
Jackson is a prolific musician in his own right, releasing countless recordings on his own website, including two albums of improvisations with Hemmings. On All That Glisters, Jackson's saxophone is subjected to all manner of digital abuse, but its voice remains intact. Like a kind of super villain that keeps coming back to life in spite of a radiation overdose, Jackson's saxophone survives everything Evil Dick throws at it.
All That Glisters is the new album by Evil Dick, but did you know he has made several other CDs?
